Who We Are
The Center of Expertise for Data Center Energy (CoE) works across the data-center industry to optimize energy use and costs. Through technical support, tools, analyses and the introduction of technologies, CoE assists public and private sector data centers in implementing data center energy performance projects to support the needs of electricity loads and energy use driven by AI. The CoE partners with key public and private stakeholders to further energy management efforts.
The Center of Expertise, located at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), is recognized as a leading source for technical expertise on energy performance in data centers. Center staff collaborate with international and domestic organizations to benefit the public and private sectors by encouraging the use of energy technologies and best practices to serve as a "new normal" for data center managers.
